Skye Shepherd Huts is run and managed by the very lovely Janet Ward. Janet has created a unique experience in an even more unique place. On offer is the chance to stay in a traditional Shepherd Hut with just the right amount of luxury during your stay. Janet explains that the huts were designed and built by Black Mountain Shepherd Huts in Wales; the huts are built and crafted using Welsh oak and are designed and built to last. The huts are small as you would expect, but they are built to a high standard and include electricity and electric heating. The huts have a wood burning stove, sink, a double bed and tea/coffee making facilities. Janet explains that breakfast is made personally by her each morning and delivered to you in your hut. A Vegan menu is available.

The croft includes a kitchen and lounge area where you can choose to make and prepare your own lunch or evening meal if you want to take a break from visiting the Islands many cafes and restaurants – the nearest local food shop is just 10 minutes drive away. If you want to take a seat outside, why not sit in the glass fronted summer house as you enjoy the views ?
The location is relatively secluded on the Island and so we advise taking a car if you are visiting. Skye Shepherd Huts is open all year with booking in advance advised. Janet explains that the Island is beautiful in different ways right through the year and so there are guests staying with her constantly. Janet started the business about 5 years ago and it is something that she really enjoys; Janet loves to meet new people and explains that there are lots of helpful and friendly local businesses on the Island.
